2027 Annual Enrollment is Coming Soon

• Live Event: Join us at Essex County’s South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange on Sunday, November 1, 2026, for an unforgettable day, including free admission to the award-winning Turtle Back Zoo post-race and a variety of family-friendly activities.

• Virtual 5K: Participate from anywhere! Choose the traditional timed 5K or, new this year, the “Cumulative Challenge,” which allows you to log your miles throughout the month.

All RWJBH employees are eligible for free registration for the live and virtual events. Depending on event and date of registration, employees may receive a free t-shirt, participation medal, award, merchandise, and ticket to the Turtle Back Zoo for November 1 or a future date. Sign up here for the 5K Run, 5K Walk or Virtual 5K event. Registration is free for current RWJBH employees only. When prompted, RWJBH employees should check the Employee box and enter their Employee ID number. Employee ID numbers can only be used for current employees, not family members. Repeated use of Employee IDs will void subsequent registrations.

Volunteer participation is critical to the success of this event. 100% of the proceeds benefit service line programming and supports our collective mission to protect and build healthier communities throughout New Jersey.

Volunteer opportunities are available in various roles:

• Pre-Event: Staffing tables at hospitals and medical facilities promoting and encouraging registration, including at partner events throughout the state and packet pick-up locations in the week prior to the event. Pre-event volunteer opportunities will be posted as they become available.
• Event Set-Up on Saturday, October 31 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.): Help hang banners, set up tables, sort t-shirts and signs, place tee signs around reservoir, and other preparatory tasks.
• Event Set-Up on November 1 (varying shifts from 5 a.m. – 2 p.m.): Volunteer assignments include setting up signage at Turtle Back Zoo, registering participants, staffing hydration stations, assisting with food tent setup, distributing finisher medals and awards, accompanying event photographers, helping with crowd management, serving as race marshals to guide participants along the course, and much more. Please note that some volunteer assignments have been pre-assigned to specific RWJBarnabas Health departments and require a password to register. If you have not been provided with a password, please select a different volunteer role.

Early Bird Blitz (August 20 – September 7, 2026)

Three winners from those who have registered for the live or virtual race are entered to win tickets to the New Jersey Devils, Rutgers Football, Gotham FC, New York Red Bulls game or Disney’s Descendants at the Prudential Center. Employees who registered prior to August 5 are automatically entered in Early Bird Blitz.

For all drawings, winners may only win once.

Early Bird Volunteer Giveaway (August 20 – September 7, 2026)

One employee who registers to volunteer during this period is entered to win tickets to a New Jersey Devils, Rutgers Football, New York Red Bulls game or Disney’s Descendants at the Prudential Center while securing the widest selection of volunteer roles and shift times. Winners must fulfill their volunteer commitment to receive tickets. Tickets will be for events after November 1, 2026.

For all drawings, winners may only win once.

Autumn Rush (September 8 – September 30, 2026)

Three additional winners who have registered for the live or virtual race by September 30 are entered to win tickets to the New Jersey Devils, Rutgers Football, New York Red Bulls game or Disney’s Descendants at the Prudential Center. The registration pool also includes those who registered before August 5 and those who registered during the Early Bird Blitz.

For all drawings, winners may only win once.

Final Volunteer Push (September 8 – October 14, 2026)

One employee who registers to volunteer during this period is entered to win tickets to a New Jersey Devils, Rutgers Football, New York Red Bulls game or Disney’s Descendants at the Prudential Center while securing the widest selection of volunteer roles and shift times. This includes those who registered to volunteer during the Early Bird Volunteer Giveaway. Winners must fulfill their volunteer commitment to receive tickets. Tickets will be for events after November 1, 2026.

Last Call (October 1 – October 24, 2026)

Two additional winners who have registered for the live or virtual race by October 24 are entered to win tickets to the New Jersey Devils, Rutgers Football, New York Red Bulls or Disney’s Descendants at the Prudential Center. The registration pool also includes those who registered before August 5 and those who registered during the Early Bird Blitz and Autumn Rush.
