Volunteer Opportunities

At RWJBarnabas Health, serving others is a core part of who we are – and that commitment doesn’t end when the workday does. Volunteering is a powerful way to continue giving back while also supporting your own wellbeing. Research shows that acts of service can reduce stress, improve mood and build a stronger sense of purpose.

Through our partnership with Jersey Cares – a nonprofit organization dedicated to volunteerism in New Jersey – employees can explore a wide range of meaningful opportunities. These include supporting community thrift stores and farmer’s markets, helping at local animal shelters, caring for green spaces in our neighborhoods, and more. Whether you have a few hours or a full day to give, there’s a volunteer experience that fits your interests and schedule. Plus, volunteer efforts may count toward your BHealthy Wellness points.

Employees enrolled in an RWJBarnabas Health medical plan can earn up to 8,000 points per year for volunteer services (2,000 points per event/activity) toward a savings on their medical plan premium for the upcoming year through the BHealthy Wellness Portal.
